ddobj v3.10 NEW! Addons Just Around The Corner
ddobj v3.10 has just been released with a major feature enhancement providing window
resizing by dragging the window handle. Minimum and maximum resize limit
parameters enable restrictions on window dimensions, content area dimensions, scroll
options, and more.
An addon to the drag and drop objects framework will allow developers to implement
a user-interface component on their Websites more sophisticated than iGoogle's drag and drop gadget personalization.
This goes to show that the ddobj framework can be used as a basis for more sophisticated
applications ranging from dynamic ad content to social networking tools. Stay tuned for
more widgets and applications implementing the ddobj framework, all of which will be available
to registered owners of the drag and drop objects framework.

ddobj v2.00 Priority Updates
ddobj v2.00 - In addition to the recent release of v2.00, the current revision as of
08/29/2007 allows for parent-child relationships between objects so that hierarchical menus are now possible.
Included with ddobj are two flavors of hierarchical menus; they are javascript and AJAX driven. They inherit
all the properties of the drag and drop objects. Timers, delays, drag capacity, skins, options galore... are
applicable to menus as well. Skins can now include custom close icons. Object resizing and accelerated/decelerated
motion will be included in the next revision due early September. The revision will include an object creation wizard
featuring a user-friendly GUI for creating objects and widgets from a DHTML/JavaScript driven Web page.
Registered users should login and download ddobj - new as of this posting.

ddobj v2.00 Release
ddobj v2.00 is now provided as an object oriented script with simplified usage through
a class. Additional features have been added including gradual fade transitions and many global properties
are now applicable to each individually defined drag and drop object such as boundaries and fade properties.
Object positions can be obtained using their getX(), getY() methods. AJAX functionality is now included with the
ddobj package, and includes an example page of importing content from external files into objects. It couldn't be
be easier. A new 'property=value' named parameter system eliminates confusing parameter passing. Object
parameters are all optional, and no ordered sequence is necessary when passing parameters to object(s).
Registered users should download ddobj - new as of this posting.

ddobj v1.41 Release
ddobj v1.41 has been released with the ability to
define boundaries for restricting the drag offset of an object. These boundaries
can be specified in absolute coordinates or default to no restriction whereby an object
can be dragged beyond the scrolling limits of the browser window space. The boundary can be
optionally set to the limits of the browser window space so that objects cannot be dragged
off-screen. Object coordinates and dimensions are attainable at all times.
The demonstration page has been modified, and a FAQ section has been
added for members who have a licensed copy of ddobj.

Code View v1.2 Release
Code View v1.2 has been released, and includes several bug fixes. Keywords are no longer color-coded
within variable name matches. They must be surrounded by common delimiters (e.g. operands) or white space.
Imported text files no longer require a new line at the end of the file. Keywords can be forced to match
only those keywords surrounded by white space. The licensed version has more extensive documentation and added support for
various languages including VB Code/VB Script (ASP) and JavaScript amongst others. Code View is a generic programming language
formatter with great stability and can be used to colorize any programming language code or markup. All future updates will be
restricted to licensed owners.

Software Updates
ddobj v1.1 has been released and is the currently available version
of the infamous tooltip slash drag-and-drop Web page component. There is a difference however,
and that is self apparent in the stability of the script itself. It is cross-browser compatible
and is practically guaranteed not to trigger a single error from the browser-specific javascript
engines. Added to v1.1 from the previous v1.0 release, is the partially draggable object
that enables default event handling for content within the layers themselves, such as
highlighting and clicking elements. Fixed are various browser-specific interpretations of
the script that would cause Opera to highlight the body of the Web page during a tooltip
drag-and-drop operation. Firefox would disengage the motion lock of an object when
the mouse position exceeded the boundary of the object with swift movement. All such issues
have been rectified. The close window icon has been added and may be toggled. Expect a
few downloadable tooltip skins to be released in the coming weeks.
